Table "By Elements"

S p e c t r a  H e a p  T a b l e s

In the table "By Elements" 46163 spectral lines of 98 elements are given, starting from hydrogen (1) and ending with einsteinium (99). There is no data on spectra of francium (87) and all the elements with atomic number higher than 99.

The data in this table are especially important for the cleanliness analysis of the materials, searching of the certain elements, and for choosing suitable lines for the analysis. At that, it is often important to know the excitation character of the line. Therefore, in the table the data on line's relation to atom or ion spectra, as well as on excitation potential of a large amount of lines are represented. The presence of the data makes the table valuable and allows the user not to refer to insufficiently systematized original literature that is really difficult to find. All lines lengths less than 2000Å are given relative to vacuum.

In contrast to the table "By Waves Lengths", the table "By Elements" has the data on lines in vacuum ultraviolet and infrared area of the spectrum.

The data in the Table "By Elements" were taken in general from the original works, listed in the paragraph "Literature". To get the information about the sources for each particular element you can also use the mode "Properties of the Element", the inlay "Literature"  (Fig 34).

The following principle was laid in the basis of line selection for this table: poor on lines spectra of hydrogen, aluminium, helium, and other elements are presented at full; the rest of the elements are represented by their intensive lines only. Absence of reliably comparable data on the intensity of lines, belonging even to the spectrum of one element only, makes such choice ambiguous.
