The most important step (but
in this software absolutely transparent) is the calculation. The method used
here is Finite Elements Method (FEM), applied on fluids. External program is
called wherever you choose Generate->FE Analysis or click
on the
toolbar. The FE program needs some time to solve large systems of equations,
which depends of the mesh division chosen in Aneurysm dialog, and the
speed of your computer. Please be patient. Option FE Analysis will be
disabled before generating the model of aneurysm (Generate->Aneurysm).
Also, Postprocessing->Postprocessing options will be disabled before
performing the calculation which in fact computes the values of interest,
such as the blood velocity, the shear stress and the blood pressure. The
unit for velocity scale is cm/s, for the pressure and shear stress scale is
0.1Pa.
