AMS "Doctor"

AMS is an internet-software-system for doctors, to do their complete appointment and resource planning. The following list presents the core features of the system.

Patients can use a convenient graphical calendar to make appointments with their doctor via the Internet.

	Doctors log on to AMS to check their appointments and to confirm or reject appointment-requests by their patients.
	AMS offers the doctor an online time manager.
	AMS optionally synchronizes itself with Outlook, so that the doctor does not need to manage all his appointments online. On the other hand, he nevertheless is able to do so.
	AMS not only manages individual doctor's schedules but is also a tool for a number of doctors working in a medical care center. AMS is also used to manage the recourses of doctors (e.g. special machines, treatment rooms, etc.).
	If a doctor wants to refer a patient to a specialist, the AMS system automates this task.
	AMS relieves the doctor's waiting room: For instance, instead of wasting their time, patients may leave the doctor's practice rooms to run errands. AMS sends a SMS message to their mobile phone of the patients just before their turn comes up.

Features

	Application-service-provider companies use AMS to create accounts for doctors. AMS runs on an internet host.
	Each doctor uses a username/password combination to access his/her dedicated AMS section where he/she e.g. can use the appointment planner.
	Patients can make appointment requests with a convenient graphical appointment planner by accessing "their" doctors section via a dedicated link.
	AMS supports individual working doctors as well as cooperating doctors working together in one office.
	Patients are automatically reminded of their appointments via email and SMS.
	An additional synchronization module is available "Outlook".
	AMS will be extended to manage the doctor's resources so that the appointment planning system automatically takes care of rooms, special equipment, usage conflicts when more than one doctor works in the office, etc.
	AMS allows doctors to refer patients to specialists.
	"Outlook" synchronization modules do not only synchronize appointment data but also synchronize addresses and other customer data. For example, a patient only needs to enter his patient number to create an appointment request.
	Mobile communication abilities with AMS: Patients cay be reminded of their appointments automatically with SMS.
	Mini-myAMS offers two main features: First, patients only need to save their personal settings once (name, address, insurance details, etc.); this information is stored for future reference and access to the system. Second, patients have a personalized calendar, in which appointments entered in their doctor's page are automatically transferred back to them.

AMS is an Internet Application Service Provider (ASP) Program

In the standard application, all doctors are hooked up to a central AMS server. The application service provider company get an administrative login to the AMS server to add, configure and delete doctor's accounts. Nevertheless, doctors have the option to use their own AMS server and prevent an administrative login by the service provider.
