this automated system to keep records of disease histories is designed to achieve an optimal operation of the staff at stationary medical wards, improving the quality of various medical documents preparation, saving work time of the medical staff.

the process of creating various medical documentation (doctor diaries, initial examination findings, examinations by various medical specialists, descriptions of numerous medical analyses etc. is run automatically with the use of various document templates, prompts, copies and other means of computerized document flow, which gives a multiple saving in the working time for the staff at medical institutions and release more time for curing patients.

apart from that, assignment lists, discharge documents and miscellaneous statistical documents are generated and printed out automatically. An important feature of the system is the possibility to calculate medicines and infusion therapy on the base of the patient`s data (weight, age) and various reference tables. In calculating the infusion therapy, some computation algorithms are used which were deduced empirically on the base of many years of live practice at a resuscitation ward.

using various search criteria, the practitioner (ward chief) can easily find and browse all the information of interest from the patient`s disease history, carry out respective analyses assignments and consultancy, enter new data of examinations.


 
 
  
Every doctor at a stationary ward gets personal workstation: at the casualty ward, at the therapeutic diagnostics ward, resuscitation and other wards.
A nurse on duty also gets personal workstation.
All the structural units of a hospital are joined into a LAN and the electronic version of disease history is maintained.
Nutrition, infusion therapy, pathological losses and lack of microelements in the patient`s body are calculated automatically.
Medication therapies, care and assignment lists are performed automatically.

one of the most urgent and complicated tasks in intensive therapy and resuscitation is to calculate the volumes and composition of the infusion therapy, parenteral feed and enteral therapy. Infusion therapy, if calculated adequately, is in most cases the basis for normalization of hydro-electrolyte equilibrium, for reducing the toxicosis and stabilizing the hemodynamics.

however, to make the calculation successful, tens of initial input parameters need to be provided, and several computations in relation to many formulas and nomograms, have to be performed. And in view of the fast and quick dynamics of the processes going on in the body, it becomes clear that individual calculations for each patient are possible only with the aid of a computer software only.

in this connection, there has been developed a therapy unit, which involves automatic calculation for medication therapy, enteral feed, infusion therapy and parenteral therapy. All the calculations are unified and allow the doctor to get individually visualized view for any particular patient, namely what procedures and medications the patient needs to take basing on the disease, the condition and the hydro-electrolyte equilibrium as well as availability of medication and solutions, tasks required for healing.

the purpose of the software is to visualize the needs of a patient in water, macro- and microelements, proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, depending on the age and weight, and display of the data for a chosen infusion and enteral therapy. It also allows making a fast correction depending on the baby's condition and therapy tasks.

calculations are performed in relation to many parameters: the clinical examination of a patient's condition, current pathological losses, nature and degree of exicosis, biochemical anomalies. The possibility to input as many as 20 parameters allows to reach the calculation precision as high as 1 ml in liquid and 1 mEquiv in macro elements. Such a precision is especially vital when dealing with newly-borns.

the output data is a complete list of infusion therapy, with partitions for solutions, injection rates presented in the relative and absolute forms. The calculations for infusion therapy are possible in two forms - portion-wise and as a mixed type of infusion. The parenteral therapy is presented also in two forms as per the Scandinavian system and the hyper-alimenation system.

the end-users of the software will be resuscitation wards of somatic and surgery profile. The software allows performing laborious calculations, with the database being able to display, simulate and forecast the right option for a specific therapy.

the software is made as an "open system", and the built-in reference directories can be customized and updated directly by the doctor depending on the medical advances and norms in use at a particular clinic.
