"We have been working with [ITC Software] for more than 2 years now. We
started with contract basis work and finally came to ODC which is
completely dedicated for our tasks. High team stability, good
proficiency and efficient administration support are the factors which
bring high value to our collaboration." ..../more
Computational methods and software are developed for simulation of cartilage response subjected to general loading conditions. Cartilage is considered as a porous deformable medium filed with fluid. The coupled solid-fluid model includes swelling pressure effects through water content, ion concentration or electrokinetic coupling.
The software can be used in cartilage mechanics in general, but specific features for particular problems are developed. Cartilage deformations are coupled to deformations of bones considered as deformable solids.
Viscoelastic behaviour and creep, 3D model of cartilage
Swelling effect: water content, ion concentration, electrokinetic coupling
Modeling of passive and active conditions, activation function
Applications:
Spinal motions segment - intervertebral disc, intradiscal pressure, change in water content, mechanical stress, swelling pressure, fluid pressure, displacement of the solid, relative velocity of the fluid, electrical potential
Mechanical response of a lumbar motion segment in axial torque combined with compression
Complex spinal loads during dynamic lifting tasks
DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF HUMAN SPINAL MOTION SEGMENT (SMS)
A specific software for automatic generation of input data and the analysis results is in the development phase.
